Thank You for Helping Meet the Needs of Morester Child and Youth Care Center
The Goulet Cares Project would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our sponsors and supporters. Because of your generosity, we have been able to assist Morester Child and Youth Care Center in Rustenburg, South Africa, with critical needs that directly impact the children in their care.
Thanks to your support, we recently helped provide much-needed school supplies for the children, ensuring they were prepared and equipped for their education. Today, we are excited to share that we are now working to provide new bedding for 22 beds at the center.
Why is bedding such an important need?
For many of us, clean bedding is something we take for granted. At Morester, however, keeping bedding clean can be a significant challenge. Due to unreliable electrical service in South Africa, washing and drying bedding can take up to two days. This makes it difficult to maintain a regular rotation of clean linens for the children.
By providing additional bedding, the children will have access to clean sheets and blankets more consistently, helping create a healthier, more comfortable living environment. Your support is making a direct and meaningful difference in their daily lives.
As we continue looking toward the future, one of Morester's greatest infrastructure needs is a solar backup power system. Reliable electricity would greatly improve daily operations, including laundry, food preparation, and overall child care. We hope to explore opportunities to support this important project in the future.
Looking ahead, our largest scheduled project with Morester is a much-needed kitchen remodel, which is expected to begin in July/August of this year. This renovation will help improve meal preparation, efficiency, and safety for both staff and children, creating a better environment for everyone who calls Morester home.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Dream Team Safaris for helping coordinate these efforts on the ground in South Africa. Their partnership, communication, and commitment to the children at Morester have been invaluable in helping identify priority needs and ensuring support reaches those who need it most. We are grateful for their continued collaboration and dedication to making a difference.
